So more a third from the left and the peaks not spikey and more rounded? How far should to the right should the data graph too then?

Thanks,
Mel

With M42 you generally have to over-expose the trapezium stars to show the nebulosity well.

Your shots are looking good. Just a little more gain or exposure should do it.

Cheers

Hi Robert,

Thanks for that. Still working it out as there is alot to learn. Learning in stages and working out what i am not doing right or could be done better. Everyone has been really helpful even to get me started.

Appreciate the feedback

Tried again tonight on m42 as its my defacto training eaa deep sky object.

I think it went better than before - not sure on the lpr filter though.

Other objects i tried wasn't as successful like the horsehead and flame - its not easy getting usable alignment stars.

Happy for any feedback.

Thanks Chris. Will do, i could see rotation on the stars but will defintely post the settings.

Its definetely been a steep learning curve. I am use to visual where u hop to multiple targets wheras eaa is more teasing details out of a 1-2 targets in a session.

Thanks everyone

Mel

You will get to the stage where you can dial up a few settings and sit back and relax and it becomes just like visual - except you see more.

Chris and I belong to another group that specialises in Video Astronomy you should take a look.

http://astrovideoforum.proboards.com/

There are a lot of helpful people there.

Cheers
Robert

+1. Without a dedicated section to EAA on IIS you want to try the AVforum Robert mentioned. Its very useful, everyone there is very helpful and friendly.

Make it +2 on that suggestion for an EAA/Video Astro forum section here

Best

Hi Eskimo,

Yeah, i have a long way to go, still working on getting alignment stars and playing with settings to get there

Ahh cool, its probably a good idea if we could have a seperate section and also keep the info here. Everyone has been really helpful and Chris in particular has helped me heaps to get me started. I found i was doing alot things wrong and he put me on the right path

Will check out that site as well.

Thanks,

Mel

On Saturday night I used my 6" Sky-Watcher GoTo Newtonian and a ZWO 224MC camera to make some images.
The original image of the galaxies NGC 1553 and NGC 1549 shows stars to mag 16.5.
The other image shows the planetary nebulae NGC 3132.
I had trouble with focusing.

Hi Guys,

Only got my first chance at trying to video Jupiter which had trouble with focusing but enventually got the bands.

Using Sharcap with the 224 camera it showed the brown bandings within sharpcap but no colour in the video and the bayern lines over Jupiter. Not sure what i am doing wrong. Any help appreciated?

Thanks,
Mel
