Just starting to use video Registax

As a single shot DSLR user I have finally decided to have a go at using registax.

I thought people used .avi, it uses .SER ???

Registax is for video file frame stacking, mainly for lunar and planetary imaging, for DSLR raw file stacking you need DeepSkyStacker it is freeware as well.
There are other software as well but some are not cheap, aimed at the more semi pro imagers out there.

I use Registax all the time for DSLR image stacking as long as there's no field rotation. Much quicker and in my opinion (not that that's worth much) a better job than Deep Sky Stacker. I just stack jpegs but Registax (version 5.1 at least) will handle RAW and a number of other file formats, not just video (avi). Both freeware though, whatever you get used to I guess. Good luck!
