Bintel BT250 (GSO) f/4 Imaging Telescope

I'm clearing out the shed and looking to deliver this to a new owner at the ASV Messier Star Party next weekend (Saturday 10th March at Heathcote). Pickup in central Victoria a bit of trek otherwise!

I bought this scope secondhand a few years ago but never got it into active service.

Bintel Product Page ($750)

James McHugh has a great post about the steps required to optimise these budget scopes for quality imaging.
  • Scope has been fully flock lined on the inside and also on the top outside to prevent stray light in piggy-backed imaging.
  • There are two bolt holes in the tube ready for direct attachment of a guidescope (to reduce differential flexure).
  • The focuser has a crack (as I received it) as per the prediction in James' website above. It would be relatively straightforward to repair and reinforce the back of this plastic component which is easily removed.

$250 or best offer before the weekend :-)

If you're really serious about it I do also have the 3" ASA Wynne Corrector available, but would only sell that for close to its retail price.
