Jupiter and Io 23/4/17 (ASI290MM is a beast)

Well finally got around to putting together the full colour in (IR+R) G B.

The seeing wasn't that great, I would say 7.5/10.

The ASI290MM is just an epic camera, leaps and bounds above the venerable QHY5L-IIM, couldn't wait to try it on Jupiter after first using it for Saturn last year.

It really is insane what an EdgeHD 9.25 scope can produce .

You have good reason to be happy with your scope and camera. That's a very nice shot you've created. Well done.

Probably the best image I've seen with a <11" scope. Superbly sharp - really well done.

Decent conditions, carefully captured and beautifully processed as always maybe you should consider a bigger cat?

Thanks Dunk . Funny you should say that, i've now got a new dovetail on the G11, which means i dont have to slide the OTA into it, just insert and clamp - thus making the prospect of attaching a C14 into it a lot more manageable for one man . but i must resist

Nice result, good colour and detail. Are you using ROI? If not perhaps use that to get a faster frame rate. I would recommend you up the focal length though on nights of 7/10. I can attest that seeing does come and go and sometimes it can be years between 4/10 and getting 7/10. When the seeing is bad for a long time 7/10 looks pretty damn good.
