Occultation of Regulus by Moon

May 4th, Central Victoria. Captured the occultation of Regulus by the Moon at 8.05 pm AEST last night. Within 10 sec of taking this pic Regulus disappeared behind the Moon. Amazing to see it go. Single exposure at prime focus thru a Meade LX600 10" SCT scope using a Canon 550d camera. Also managed another image to show lower half of moon. Thanks for viewing. Cheers, John W.

Great capture. I saw this staring up at the sky whilst footy training. The moon looks nice and clear in your single frame snap. Occultations are always worth viewing. Good stuff.
