GSO coma corrector ?

I have a GSO 8inch f/6 dob. Would the coma corrector improve the 30mm superview i have. I also have a 20mm 82 degree widescan, also not brilliant at the edge of field. Second question. If i were to unscrew the corrector lens and attach it to the2inch to 1.25 eyepiece adapter would it project the focal plane out enough to use my binos at near natural focal ratio? Thanks

Coma correctors correct primary mirror coma. They do not help with aberrations in the eyepiece except a little correction in field curvature as is the case of the Paracorr being a 1.15x amplifier.

Is your dob really 8" f8? I think 8" f6 is more common. At f8 you don't really need a coma corrector. Even at f6 coma in an 8" is very small.

The best solution is better corrected eyepieces so that all that is left is primary mirror coma which will be tiny in an 8" f6 and even smaller in an 8" f8.

I tried screwing the lens from my GSO coma corrector onto the 2" adapter before my WO binoviewers and the result is not good. Many abberations and it doesn't help move the focal plane much.

Thanks Sean, for eyepieces only.
