I know we have a few aircraft enthusiasts on iis, but how many car enthusiasts are on here? What type of cars gets your blood pumping?
I'll start.
Had a few hotrods and street cars over the years. But I've always have a thing for sports cars. I had the obligatory Lamborghini Countach and Porsche 930 Turbo posters on my wall as a young last. Our current weekender has been with us for a year now. It recently did a trip to Tasmania - one of the most enjoyable trips we've ever done.
If I could have any car it would probably be a McLaren MP4-12C Spyder. Or maybe a Morgan 3 wheeler. Or both. How to choose.
Dodge Viper for me , a real MAN;s car if ever there was one .
These don't even have power steering .
Brian.

I stopped by an old friends house for a visit and found this in his driveway
williams F1 team helped in development of this remarkable little car
Size wise its much like a suzuki swift ,this one is tricked to full international rally standards of the time ,400 bhp, all wheel drive bullet on wheels.
his task was to get it going if possible before auction , he also wanted to buy it , but the seller declined his offer., he did get it going and took for a spin on the road, brake master seized as he wanted to pull into his drive so had to keep right on going and just got downshifted enough stop before a a busy road.
I did not realize there were any 6R4s in the country!
I am a car nut and growing up in a family which has largely stuck with Japanese tin I have had a couple of notables, usually most notable for me wishing I did not sell them.
Wish I did not sell #1 A 1971 Datsun 240C (Cedric) hardtop coupe. Exceptionally rare in Aus, I have physically only ever seen one other since my family got the one we had, and that was in 1984. I have seen photos of two others since.
Wish I did not sell #2 a 71 240Z. I owned it from 91 to 2000. Enough said about being an idiot for selling it. In all that time I have still not found a car I would prefer to drive. A bit raw, a bit harsh and ALL fun. I used to drive it to work.
Currently I have a 77 Toyota Crown in the shed that I am tidying up for a club permit with my young bloke. and a 1986 (I think, it is a bit unclear, they did not put build dates on them back then) Nissan Skyline HR31 coupe track car. That one gets the blood pumping, particularly in the rain and makes all the right noises too.
We're big Rally fans wifey and I. Mitsubishi Evo 6.5 Tommi Makinnen would be my first buy if I won Lotto. Then McLaren P1, Nissan GTR and a Fiat Abarth 500. And an apartment with big garage at Hampton Downs Raceway.
Currently we own 2 Mitsubishi VR4's, big brothers to the EVO. V6 Twin Turbo 4wd with AYC. 206 kw, ceramic brakes, big bore exhaust on mine with POD air filter. I've clicked 180 kmh on the track when the Jap limiter kicked in. Wife has the Saloon Super Sports version, I have the Legnum Wagon version. It's real fun when we line up against each other at the lights, we ain't married when that happens !!!
I was building a Rally Club car a while back but job changes killed that project. 1600 4G61T Turbo Mirage. I've also done Flag Marshalling at a couple of events including V8 500 Pukekohe. Awesome noisy that close to the action.
Not fussed on any vehicles really,or driving,if I never had to drive again it would be too soon.People that live in cities and have public transport are so lucky,I long for the day where I do not own a vehicle.
Having said that,I live in bush,so just have to put up with them.Preference is for something with roof racks,or bars or tray on back so I can cart stuff around, take stuff to antique shops, and be useful on dingo patrol,so I can make money to pay for the darn thing.
He is a couple of images of the vehicles I prefer in action. At least this one is loaded up enough to make some money for a change.
Of all the cars I've had & sold, I regret selling my Y block powered 30 A Improved roadster the most. Why do we sell stuff like that? I didn't need to move on.
Nice, I have only ever driven one Porsche, which was a 69 model 911 on the track (A reward from the owner for spending half the day helping make it run properly, a left hand drive which was an odd feeling)
The view between those front guards is certainly evocative.
I did not realize there were any 6R4s in the country!
I think it was the only one Paul, my friend is well known in morris /austin
circles so as to why they took it to him i guess, its owner was a gfc casualty
I believe and this was one of his toys seized, whoever had it to be sold had no idea what it was or its value ,, But they found out and It did sell for a lot 3.2/100-8.2/160 is still pretty impressive today for a 1980 vintage
I like Aussie muscle A9X ,XU1 FordXA hardtop RS200B
US muscle cars
Japanese like em all , not a ford or Holden man I just like cars and bikes
for a car I'd like a sleeper a Nissan Stagea , same running gear as the GTR , yup bogans wouldn't know what smoked them !
