Thumbs up Saying hello from Canberra and Lake Forrest!

So exciting to be here. I have spent years thinking about getting in astrophotography. I'm finally doing it.

Really good to meet you all. I spend about 4-5 months out of the year in Canberra (my husbands family is from there), and rest of the time in Lake Forrest, CA. Technically we spend 3 weeks out of the year in time share we own in NYC.

Regardless really good to meet you all!

Hello!

The IIS forums are full of great tips and knowledgeable astronomers.
You'll get the best of both worlds with different objects in both hemispheres too

What equipment are you using CesnaGirl?
Happy hunting and clear skies!

Good luck on your astrophotography journey....

Welcome Cesna girl.

Canberra doesn't have the greatest weather for astronomy over the winter months. High percentage of cloudy nights. About the same as the rest of SE Australia.

But when it is clear, light pollution in the city is moderate. But the best part is with the light traffic and great roads, you can get out of the city to dark skies really quickly.

Have fun.

Joe
