Southern stars

May 23, View of the southern stars in Carina region. Shows southern cross and Eta carina neb. Single exposure of 10 sec thru a modified Canon 1200d camera (first pic). Lens was 50 mm f1.8. Thanks for viewing.

I always found my 50mm a pain in the bum to focus properly, especially at night. What I did was focus the lens on something about 10-20m away during the day and then using a really thick banded rubber-band I would lock the focus rings into place.

Your focus here is off but otherwise easily identifiable. Good job.
