150mm MAKSUTOV OTA $400

Selling my 150mm, f12.5 Mak. This solid, compact scope is excellent for planetary and lunar viewing. Has been significantly upgraded with a Bintel 2" 10:1 Crayford focusser and 2" 90-degree diagonal. I checked it again on Jupiter the other night and the image quality is as good as my 110mm f7 ED refractor!

OTA only, no finder (but has mounting shoe for standard Skywatcher/GSO finder). Some wear-and-tear scratches on tube, but optics unmarked. Will throw in 50mm GSO 2" eyepiece for extra $50, if required.

Available for inspection at Scarborough, approx. 1 hour South of Sydney CBD. Not prepared to mail/courier (risk of damage). But will travel up 90 mins to meet halfway.

Brett,

It has no brand and I'm unable to determine its origin. However, it is very solidly constructed and the optics are excellent. It's certainly not a "junk scope".

Regards,
Peter

Looks like an early OpticStar MG12, which with slight variations is also sold as the Meade LX70 M6, or iOptron maksutov.

Should be a nice scope if optics are in good order.
