TIS Cameras

So I currently own both of The Imaging Source's DMK31BF03 and DFK31BF03 cameras from prior projects that were before TIS was selling the .AS versions. (Im not even sure if the USB versions were available.) So therefore limited to 30 second exposures.

Does anyone know if these cameras can be modified whether by hardware or software modification to the .AS spec. Or is there little gained there, and just retain them as is for planetary imaging?
