I am in the process of building an 18" F3.5 DOB which means this 12.5" F5 will be surplus to requirements.
It is fitted with a Parks mirror and premium secondary to produce excellent views. Any who have looked through it can attest to the quality.
It is home built, the first scope I constructed. It has been adjusted a number of times to refine performance. It can be fitted with an Argo Navis.
The unusual outer design utilising aluminium rings, and a combination of roller bearings and teflon produces a very smooth movement system. The scope stays in position during removal of say a 31mm Nagler and replacement with lighter lenses.
The scope breaks into essentially five components for re-location. 1, the top light shroud (if required), 2 The main OTA, 3 The mirror box detaches, 4, the base ring, and 5, the Alt/Az cage.
The mirror is showing some signs of age. It produces very good results now, but at some stage may need re-coating. I purchased the primary second hand from an IISer some 9 years ago.
Located in Canberra, a pick up would be highly desirable as I don't know how to ship it!
Asking $1200 which is less than I paid for the primary.
