Desktop wont come out of hibernation/sleep mode

Hi Guys,

Would anyone have a suggestion why my desktop sometimes dose not like to come out of sleep/hibernation mode.

The display is set for 15 minutes and the hard drives is set to turn off at 30 minutes.

However when this happens, and it shuts down, it dose not want to come out of either mode.

I am left with no alternative but to hold the button down and physically turn it off.

The mouse has no response either and the screen stays black.

However once it is fired up again everything is fine and it performs perfectly.

Any suggestions most appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Leon

PS. I have tried other time settings and this still stays the same.

Hi Leon,
Sounds like your PC has a personality disorder and might be to scared to come out of hibernation.

Reset the bios to factory defaults then reboot, then ensure you are up to date with Windows updates. The motherboard manual will have instructions on how to do the reset.

Cheers,

Damien.

Hi Leon

Its possible the device is not set to wake up the pc. I thought in Windows 10 this is on by default???

Worth checking, open device manger (windows key and X) select device manager.

For both keyboard and mice click to open, double click the one you use, select Power Management tab. Arr there be the option.

Hi Leon,

As an update, sometimes if you have a newish motherboard, there is a jumper on it that you can remove to enable the reset mode, that's what I had to do on mine when experiencing a similar issue.

Cheers,

Damien.

Thanks Damien, the Mother Board is not that new, however the problem has been solved for now and I will see if it behaves itself from now on.
Thanks for your support.
