Transit of GRS and the approach for transit of Europa.
Seeing here has often been damp and unsteady here compared to last year.
The moon was hopelessly unsteady for captures due to wood smoke from next door but Jupiter was just normally unsteady. And even as in this case when seeing is not great, and the image looks a bit smeared it is great fun to capture or see Jupiter while there is so much interest in its GRS and moons.
The camera is the ASI 1224MC on an Alt Az EVO. Gain was at 350 and exposure was 6.4m/s Gamma was 100 (which I think equates to zero). Normal IR filter used. Capture was for 3 minutes. Much of this detail is often on the image
Talking of less used filters, I have the odd amusing image such as from 6 June where during a GRS transit I took a couple of 4 minute captures a ZWO CH4 filter which really requires a larger aperture for decent results..but on the flip side for a small scope, since not usually showing fine detail does not require good seeing! You can see Io and the GRS.
