Fancy some BBQ Roast (running) chicken?

12hours worth of narrowband Ha, OIII, SII taken over two nights. Stacked as separate channels in APP and then processed in Startool 1.7 using SHO proportions of 40SII+60Ha, 70Ha+30OII, 100OIII. Final tweaks in Photoshop CC.

Warming nicely to my new ASI294MM plus Antlia narrowband filters. This is a much more enjoyable subject in narrowband mono.

My earlier attempts with OSC came out perversely as pretty mono-chromatic. To be able to pull such blues and orange/green tinges I think makes this a much more interesting target... and to my eyes at least looks like it's aflame :-)

That is superb Robert.

I have a QHY294mm. Its quite a versatile camera with its dual mode 47m or 11mp.

Have you had any difficulties with it?

Greg.

Thanks Greg, I bought the ASI294mm specifically with an aim to test the mono waters and if I found the waters warm and inviting to sell and purchase the ASI2600MM... but I have been very impressed and think I'll hang onto this for some time. There is a lot of amp glow and flats look weird, but it all seems to calibrate out perfectly using either Bias or Flat Darks...some seem to say Bias no good with this camera and to use flat darks, but I cant see the difference so will stick with Bias. That said I've only used it so far in 2x2 bin mode and I expect it will be trickier in 1x1... I will try that eventually. I have an Askar 400 with 0.7 reducer that would pair very well with the smaller pixel size... but for now I'm just seriously enjoying the world of Colour by using a Mono camera

Great chook with good colour variation. That's the way it should look. And great details to boot. Starfield is well defined, fine and dense at the same time. One for the cool wall
