Kodak once made a MONOCHROME camera

Did you know Kodak made a genuine monochrome chipped camera?

Sadly they axed it just as its design was getting good.
I think Canon should, after all it shold now be is not putting the bayer colour filters on the sensors (one less manufacturing step) or else simply using clear filters.

This may be a dumb question, but is it possible to remove a Bayer Matrix?

Im not sure how the matrix is stuck down, wether each pixel would have to be removed or wether the coloured pixel covers are in one unit that could be pulled off

Each pixel has its own filter.
So, Bayer matrix can not be removed.
