Question Clamshell Observatories in Oz

Greetings all

Does anybody know if there are distributors/manufacturers of clamshell observatories in Australia. I am thinking of the type of thing produced by Astrohaven. Such a dome would have some of the advantages of a dome, and some of the advantages of a roll-off roof (ie a large enough one could cope with 2 scopes).

Any ideas, comments etc?

Yep, that's what I'm worried about!!! Actually I'm really worried about how much they cost in the first place, regardless of getting one here!!!

I'd consider a Pod, but they aren't really big enough and I want to automate the dome. If I can't get a clamshell, I would consider a normal dome, but then I'm limited to one pier.

Hopefully one of these incredibly bright people who hang around here will have a good idea.

Alas, due to work issues, I can only come up for the day on the last Saturday!

But hopefully we can catch up for a chat about the pods. They certainly are interesting as an idea, and as per the other thread I have running in this forum, you will see that something is definitely in the winds!
