Synscan WiFi Dongle

Hi, I recently tried to use my newly acquired Synscan WiFi dongle to drive my EQ8 Pro.
It connected okay and seemed to be fine until I tried to do anything with it. No matter what I selected (e.g. star alignment) I kept getting the following error message:
"[FireDAC][Comp][Clnt]-500. Application must have only single FDManager".

None of that makes even the remotest sense to me so if anybody has come across this before or know what it might mean could they please explain it.

I should probably add that the mount is sitting on a pier and polar aligned.
I don't have internet available to the observatory but I don't believe the dongle needs it, the PC and it were talking to each other, just the weird error message.

Cheers.

Steve

Hi Steve

I run an EQ8 with the wifi dongle and haven't come across that issue.

Did you download the ASCOM driver as well? I run mine through the Sky X and use PHD2 and it just works. I have the ASCOM driver and connect the mount to both Sky X and PhD without an issue.

Hi Brian,
Thanks for the reply.
So I didn't try to run the mount through anything other than the Synscan program that opens up when the PC and it connect (as per the instructions). I have downloaded the ASCOM driver for the mount (if that's the one you're referring to). I didn't try Sky X nor PHD2 (which I have the latest version downloaded).
I'm not sure if there's a Skywatcher or Synscan forum where I can ask this question.
Cheers.

Steve
