Neptune

In between filming Jupiter and Saturn, and waiting for Mars to come up, thought I'd have a go at Neptune. Being good conditions and close to opposition it was as good a time as any. Took a while to find it. Colour is unaltered, just as filmed on the DSLR. Would have done Uranus but it wasn't up yet. Small but I guess it's such a long way away.

Nice one Nick, Neptune is a difficult one to spot.

Try playing with the middle level on the raw stack in PhotoShop/Gimp, you might be able to find Triton lurking amongst the shadows ...

Thanks Andrew, I found it using the GoTo. Tried it on Saturn and Jupiter first, and they were both high and left by the same amount. So I looked for Neptune in that same high and left area. Had a good dark sky for it before the moon came up. Would be great to get Triton in it but I don't have PhotoShop or Gimp.

If you like, you could PM me the image and I could look at it.

Or download Gimp yourself (it's a free package) and have a go yourself
