After weeks of cloudy nights I finally got a clear evening but with poor transparency that dulls images of fainter objects, so I gave these two brighter ones a go and they turned out ok.
The horsehead is 10x6 min, Tarantula 14x6 min, both with an L-Enhance filter, TS115.
I made a start on M33 too but it's low in the murk, 8x5 min, IDAS-D2 filter, TS115.
They are all very commendable examples of fine astrophotography.
Well done Tony- you are showing great dedication and the results are tip-top.
Cheers
Anthony
Excellent. I gave my 115mm a run last night I hope I can get results like yours. I was after M33 but there is still a fire going so less than ideal.

Love ya Work Anthony I took the liberty to run your horse head through the GIMP Portable NIK COLLECT DFine2 noise filter . Hoping you didn't mind What do you think Cheers Wes
It looks smoother Wes. I've got Pixinsight which has various noise filters which I've tried a little, but I haven't learned enough about them yet.
The 115 triplet is good value Alex - you did well to grab it from the classifieds.
So far very impressed, little things over the sky watcher 80..you can rotate it easily, not so with the 89mm, focuser is great, dew shield slides in and out so smooth, and so far the heq5 seems happy..I know that I am.
Although last night was a pain from start to finish..I may write a book:

I have an occasional night like that, usually when I'm tired and I've done something wrong. Once we have AI controlling the gear it'll be able to read between the lines and compensate.
Good to see you back at the helm Tony, & a classic trio. The detail in the Tarantula image is excellent & you've framed the best of it very nicely.
Tony
Thanks guys. I'm looking forward to the Orion region returning again. The modified camera will show more and the L-Enhance filter should be good for the busier targets like the Xmas Tree.
Beautiful horsehead Tony. I’m looking forward to doing a couple of different versions of this region this year. It’s such a beautiful part of the sky and you’ve captured it really well. Well done.
It's a good filter on certain targets and it greatly helps with light pollution. Whether it's better for the horsehead region is hard to say - a broader filter gives a nicer orange colour to the flame nebula and truer star colours. The L-Enhance does help to tame Alnitak though.

Lots of interesting objects around the corner for sure. I'm looking forward to adding a few hours to the Horsehead image to bring out the fainter nebulosity and dust.

When it's higher in the sky I'm gonna try out both filters and combine th images and see what happens, a few months off, stay tuned!
