Sony NEX5 ?? Any use for astrophotography

Does this camera have any potential for astronomical work , I think it's 14mp and goes up to 12800 iso , though tests show that this value is more like 16000. I imagine if the noise level is reasonable these specs look promising?

Hi Phil, Alex does some amazing short exposure images with one of these Sony cams & his big ( BIG) Dob. Have a look.......

Darn right about that, Dave. Alex has taken some amazing pics with that little Nex5 of his. Great camera on a big and fast dob and he gets shots some have paid 5-10 times as much for in equipment to just get half as good.
