I've had one for last couple of years. Good for moon and bright planets but can't do long exposures. Good for getting started in my opinion as it comes with everything you need. There is better (free) capture software you can download than Amcap that comes with it.

As Peter has pointed out, it's a good way to get started on moon and planets and I'm assuming that's what you're planning on doing?

Having owned one, and also having a ToUcam Pro II...I'd advise you opt straight for a ToUcam as your beginner's planetary/ lunar webcam.
Not that there's anything drastically wrong with the NexImage. It's just that the ToUcam is better IMHO.

If you get a ToUcam, you'll also have to buy an adapter and download some free capture software such as K3CCDTools.

Other than that, it's quite easy to get up and running.
