Convert SCT diagonal

I have an unused Celestron 2" SCT diagonal and have noticed that I can unscrew the SCT 'portion' - does anyone know if this can then be converted to a regular visual back and if so what part I would need?

Would like to make use of it in a refractor.

Do you mean re use the diagonal? You would need to check the thread but if it was in a refractor with a 2” focuser you could most likely just fit a 2” nosepiece in place of the SCT adapter.

I actually put a 2” compression fitting on the rear cell of my C925 and 2” nose on my diagonal as I was sick of fiddling with lock rings to rotate the diagonal.

Some diagonals can be converted, and in fact William Optics sell a nosepiece to convert their SCT diagonals to a standard type:

But as far as I know there's no standard thread for this type of accessory so the WO one will only work with their diagonals. No idea if there's one that will work with your Celestron diagonal.

If you can't find the 2" tube that screws directly where you have removed the SCT bit (or get someone to make it for you), you can get a 2" adapter that screws into the SCT bit.

Only problem is, that makes the diagonal long and eyepieces probably won't come to focus in short focal length refractors.
