Mt Warning Eclipse

This is last month's partial lunar eclipse as the moon set behind Mt Warning in northern NSW.

This was taken with a Canon 70D DSLR attached to a 952mm focal length triplet refractor telescope.

Thanks Graham - this was taken from Farrants Hill - about half way between Kingscliff and Murwillumbah.

Really excellent! Did you plan this scene in advance?

Thanks very much Andy - yes this one was planned a couple of months in advance, though I only realised it was going to be eclipsed a few days beforehand.

I got this crappy one through trees last year of the full lunar eclipse. The hardest part is finding suitable shooting locations that line up.

In theory I reckon you could do something like this with a setting planet against a very distant TV mast. I did some preliminary planning with Venus setting over the Springbrook radio / TV masts last year.

Now there's a challenge for you
