Exposure

What would be the longest exposure time for a 50mm lens f1.8 before trails appear set at iso1600

mounted on a camera tripod

no tracking

????

About 14 seconds. Set it for 15 seconds and see how you go.

Thanks I thought about that but wanted to clarify I'm going away too a beach site 300klms from the city shortly no lights so if the weathers fine I'll be trying some wide field stuff

How many happy snappies per target should I collect at 15s exposures

Make yourself a simple barn door tracker ? Take lots better if u have the time.

I've noticed that there are not any cheap simple eq camera trackers available in OZ

Orion do a table top one for about $100US
