NGC6357, Mars and Saturn

Had a decent night of imaging. Had trouble with the filterwheel, I think the power cable for it has died, if not, I may have bricked it. Will see when I visit the local jaycar.

Really wanted to try my hand at imaging the "Budget Orion", nebula NGC6357. One of my better success stories . I think this nebula would great in colour but alas, I am limited to Ha in my backyard

And is tradition, some fun time with the 290MC while the QHY9 is taking darks.

All 3 images are really good, especially Saturn...and Mars...and...

You must have had a very clear sky.

My best Mars effort is a very small fuzzie blob.

Well done Tony

Nice images! Were all three taken with the ED127? I found it really hard to decide which telescope to get (ended up with a 100mm with a focal length of 550mm and worried the focal length was too long for some targets and too short for others). Maybe 3 scopes is the minimum...?

Yup, everything with the ed127. I liked the aperture side for its light gathering compared to a 100mm. There are targets i cant fit but I'm working my way towards mosaicing.

You can, butyou can only reduce it si much. Plus i like the idea of a higher res picture than a single frame image.
