Flickr acquired by Smugmug - alternatives?

I've been with Flickr for as long as I've been imaging. Got an email that they've been acquired by Smugmug, and have been reading rumours about where this will take Flickr, and many are jumping ship, deleting photos and moving to other image hosting sites.

I'm wondering what alternatives are recommended and why. I have Astrobin, but not paid, so limited in how many images I can host there. Plus, I have a lot of non-astro images. I was active a while ago on DeviantArt, but don't use it much any more, don't really like the direction it has gone.

Wondering about Instagram? Good? I have an account, but don't really use. Limitations?

Other one may be Google Photos?

Your own website maybe? It's really easy these days.

I use Astrobin (full paid) and cannot be happier.
