The Moon in Motion

Been a long time between posts for me.. but good things come to those who wait! 😇

It's 21 months since my 12 cameras and 185 kg (400 pound) international expedition to the last Total Solar Eclipse. Around a busy job, it has taken me all that time to figure out the image processing and video editing skills to produce this video (have logged about 200 hours.. and there's plenty more that didn't get recorded). 🌙 And so with just one month now till the next Total Solar Eclipse hits Chile and Argentina on 2nd July, I thought it was high time I release this video:

Thanks for watching!

That was so beautiful Phil. Thanks for sharing.

My son has been asking me a bit what the Cairns eclipse was like and he was suitably amazed by your pics too.

Thanks Pete and Rob!

My experience at Cairns certainly helped with this eclipse photography, as did having clearer skies (no high cloud this time)!

cheers
Phil

Beautifully done, I take my hat off to you ( if I was wearing one ). The effort you went to with all that gear is more than commendable.

What can you say?

Fantastic data. Seamlessly edited. Sublime results.

World class.

I suspect that will win an award or two

Thanks Mike. Good to see your dome seems to be bringing a fair bit of joy recently, and that you're enjoying the cold nights! Eclipses can be a bit of a curse.. be careful what you wish for is my advice :-)

Thanks Peter. And a little note of credit for a tip in a thread of yours that helped me get back on a path to success in Photoshop last year.

My deadline for getting this out was to have it out a lunar cycle before the next eclipse, after which time I felt I would have missed the boat in terms of 'finishing' the project while the footage was still relevant (and before it got swamped with current footage of a new eclipse). There was a happy coincidence though..
