Lens bracket

Hi all,

I was wondering, where does one go about getting a lens ring which mounts on top of your telescope on the standard 1/4"-20-type threaded bolts; allowing you to rotate the lens, fix it in place, and then attach the camera so that you can have the camera in any orientation that you like. Sort of like a rotating focuser.

In particular, I'm after a clamp/ring/bracket for a Canon EF 24-105mm F/4L lens.

I don't want to purchase a ball head mount as they can be a little sloppy with heavy lenses. You really have to tighten them up a lot, and, even then, there's no guarantee that the camera isn't going to slip due to gravity.

I'm one of those people who must have the image oriented exactly east-west or north-south.

Thanks for any help!

Regards,
Humayun

Hello there,

I just got one from New Zealand from trademe.co.nz but the seller has a site here with the mounting rings for some Canon lenses,

http://store.johnthomson.co.nz/home.php?cat=321

I got one for my EF 200f2.8L, he was very good to deal with, he sent me 2 to try out to make sure it was the right one, with a return envelope.

Took me ages to find them though, after my local camera shop quoted me $300!

Did I say AU$27.00?, I've just had another look & it was $21.00
Mine was for a Canon 70-200 F4L and also fit on others

The seller's title is :dslr_dresser
If you look up "tripod mount" you will find a lot of others as well

Hope you find what you want
