Cartes du Ciel?

I went to download this program and it seems you can get it from a few places but I can not tell if any site is "official".
Can someone recommend the best place to get it from?

Alex,
Just for info.
This is what the typical CdC screen looks like when connected to EQMod.
(The example shown is in Simulator mode as I'm away from the scope)
Hope this helps.

EDIT: I also show the "usual" EQMod settings screen when connecting to the mount...you can see where the Comms port number in entered.

Alex,
The other decision you have to make is whether to use Pulse or ST-4 guiding.
This is also set in the Set-up screen...
(I use the ST-4 guiding - why? because that's what I've used for the last ten years...)

I understood pulse to be better, but I can't remember why? It was the recommendation in the tutoruals when setting up PHD2 IIRC.

Markus,

Things have gone downhill.
At one point all seemed to be ok in so far as I could at least move the mount and the box indicated the mount was connected but now in the mount position box it shows "Connect Error:Time out"
I spent last night reading all I could find which U will go thru again today and hopefully I can find the problem.
It was so disappointing haveing apparently got there and it all fall in a heap.
It seems I will have to learn a lot more than I expected.
I read problems like mine could be something to do with windows and the drivers and that back in January of this year a few folk were experiencing similar issues but I cant find anything yet that suggests the problem was fixed.

Alex,
Don't get too discouraged.
There are many of us who successfully use CdC/EQMod with their set-up.
Softly softly......
We can assist.

Does your screen (take a screen capture?) look like the ones I uploaded??

Alex,
I assume you have loaded and installed ASCOM 6.3
also EQAscom (EQMod)?
Then Cartes du ciel?
With everything connected start CdC, then the telescope connection...
Would be easier for us if you can get a screen capture....

Well printing out the QASCOM manual seems to have worked...with out even reading it the problems seem to have disappeared☺
I really dont know what I did but switching the lappy on and off seems to have worked...I did alter the lat and longitude and the baud rate but nothing else...
Anyways all is good for the moment and it looks as if all is ok.
I think the problems appeared when I started playing with the focuser stuff in Sharpcap so I will pay special attention when I start again.
I now keep notes of each step and record what happens ...
Learnt heaps.
Thanks again.
