Takahashi FS60CB

Have messed around with this scope all weekend from F5.9 to F16 with its various adapters etc and have after hours of observations visually have come to the conclusion that this is a very special piece of kit ,Don't do anything but visual observations myself but have been blown away by the quality of this little scope ,Have read all the blah blah offered up by others but this is one serious little refractor ,Eyepiece specific to a point but proves to me that apeture is not always king ,Just thought i would share my experience with you all........

Big fan of mine. Can’t bear to part with it. Really versatile. Have you tried the CX 1.7 extender on it yet?

Yes I have David and I have the 1.6x Barlow as well and whichever combination I use it the performance is top notch ,Really give it a workout for the first time over the weekend and can now understand why the Tak scopes are held in such high esteem,Kept this over a SW ED80 and definitely made the right choice

Beautiful little scopes. Particularly great for eclipses!

Sadly, mine's relegated to a guidescope for when doing narrowband. But, one day, when I get another camera, I'd like to use it for ultra-widefield vistas.

Apparently the Q 1.7 extender made for the FS60C corrects a lot of weaknesses in optical performance that are noticeable when imaging. The review in the attached URL was an eye opener for me. Others might find it of interest also.

Yup, I can attest to this. Have imaged using this setup and it’s flat across the APS-C sensor on a Canon D60a.
Sure, a tad slow, but for bright objects like globular and open clusters it works well.
