Congratulations Josh, well done mate.

It's always a hard slog after a lot of gap years and with a young family to look after as well. Hopefully you get a bit of time for astro, though even that's hard with work and family commitments.

Cheers Rick

5 years with Honours? Hell, my Bachelors of Science (Med. Microbiology) took 5 years, let alone even contemplating Honours! (didn't have requisite good marks to do it anyway! ).

Well done that man.

Congratulations! Passing a degree is a lot of work but First Class is at least twice as much work. And you need more than just raw intelligence; it takes commitment, organisation, resourcefulness and a bit of plain bloody-minded determination.

Was honours based on the results of your undergrad subjects or did you do a separate honours year with a research project? If so, what (in plain English) did you research?
