What camera would you buy?

G'Day All
If you had a spare $500-$600 and wanted to buy a camera which could do both deep space & planetary or something like that what type of camera would you buy and why ,also would you go for colour or monochrome and use filters .I have a Meade LXD 75 8" f/4

Well, an obvious choice, based on price right now, is the Meade DSI II Pro for $499, at Bintel. They're pretty good for both DSO's and planets. If you want to just buy the base camera and not have to deal with monochrome and RGB filters etc, get the OSC (One Shot Colour) version. The resolution on the monochrome + filters camera is a bit better as you don't have the bayer filter over the chip, however it takes a little more getting used to using it. The OSC version is probably the easier one to use as it's point and shoot....no dealing with filters and such. It'll complement your Meade scope quite well.
