all I could manage

Packed all my nano tracker gear, and left the power pack behind, so all I
could do was 15 x 8 secs 50mm @ f1.8 ISO 3200.

You did very good to keep going and not give up in the face of difficulty.
Nice image which you must be very proud of Raymo.
Well done.

Still a pleasing result considering the circumstances.
Those dust lanes are always a sight to behold

Looks pretty good to me Raymo, must have been a nice dark sky to capture Rho's nebulosity with so much colour in just 2mins exposure. Can't beat those fast 50mm lenses if you want to keep your exposures short. You must have been mighty when you found out you left your power supply behind!

Thanks Alex and Evan.
Yes Michael, I was slightly miffed. Was taken in Eastern Bali, so nice dark sky. I have fitted an R/A 9x50 finder; now to see how well it works.

Hi Simon. I did give up, and no longer have a telescope, or equatorial mount.
At somebody's suggestion I got a Sightron Nano Tracker and put it on a
light tripod, and now do occasional widefield imaging, mostly 50-100mm,
The whole rig weighs around 2.5kg so i can carry it easily with one hand, and leave it in my hobby room ready to go at a moment's notice.
