another venting satellite 12 august

thanks to Brad Le Brocque for calling me to confirm his sighting of this object - no mate you are not off your tree. taken 6:47pm 12/08/2018 from newcatle

My guess is that these are exhaust gasses from the solar mission after it blasted out of Earth's orbit.

I saw something similar when Cassini went to Saturn in the late 1990s. Old hands of that era were saying that they were familiar with this phenomena from the time of the Apollo missions.

Back in 2011, I caught the last ever shuttle flight over Adelaide.
It had just undocked from the ISS and performed the usual fly-around inspection.
You can see that either the shuttle or the ISS (I can't work out which is which) is surrounded by a cloud of exhaust:

It was a great site, only the second time I've seen this. Does anyone know of software that alerts us to impending launches. I'd like to see more of this.
