New here

Hi,

I'm Andy, I live in Cairns and am looking to start using a tracker for deeper astro photography having used WA lenses on my dslr before for shots of the MW.

I shoot Nikon, and moved to Cairns from the UK in 2007.

My wife is a MH Nurse, one of our kids now lives in Melbourne, 1 in Surfers and one still at home (18). I'm kinda retired here at the mo (I'm only 49) so have plenty of time to get out bush, I shoot macro insects already (Tropical North Queensland ain't a bad place for them) and want to take more advantage of the dark skies easily accessible up here.
I have a month's camping coming up down on the Gold Coast Hinterland in June visiting our daughter too so that could also be good time for astro.

I have posted a question in the beginners equipment forum regarding what tracker and what equipment I want to use on it.

Andy

Welcome Andy. If you're down Brisbane way and it coincides with a new moon there are various groups around here that will be out under the stars. Might be worth hooking up with one of them.

The various Facebook pages associated with the websites I find are better reference points :-)
