What kind of filters would you need?

If you had a dSLR which had had the IR filter removed for IR photography, what kind of filters would you need to use it for astrophotography , or could you use it as is for some astrophotos?

You don't absolutely have to have the ir filter removed. You can get some pretty decent shots with just a normal dslr. But if you do have it removed you can use any filter you like, but you don't have to have a filter to take an image. Removing the ir filter just makes more sensitive to red, that's a good thing for astro photography.
My advice (as some one who has just migrated to a mono ccd from a dslr) would be to buy 2" filters the first time. If the bug bites, you will eventually buy a ccd and the clip in filters you get for dslrs will not fit a ccd. As long as you are using a telescope to image with, your 2" filters will always fit no matter what your camera is.

Happy hunting.
