Thought I'd share these here. Apologies if it's a few years late.
Alright so we were very lucky to experience this eclipse as it was a nice coincidence to have being there at the same time on our annual storm chasing holiday throughout the USA's incredible tornado alley (peak time is around May 23).
It worked out well. May 20 was going to be a down day on the Southern and Central Plains after numerous tornadoes hit south-central Kansas on the 19th and the trough moved east.

It was going to be a big drive south and west if we wanted to see totality.
Hit the interstate 35 south from Wichita and set for Oklahoma City for the night. The low-level jet rarked up that night (an amazing phenomenon in itself, quite unique to Texas to Kansas) so got some further impressive storms in OKC, sorry im rambling but this was a nice close bolt from the hotel landing at around 1AM:
Left OKC late that morning (another bad sleep) with storms still going off around the metro area. Not many times will you see us driving away from a nice thunderstorm. So headed west on the I-40 and dropped south from Amarillo. The landscape down to Lubbock is one of the flattest places one can go! Incredible. Lubbock was going to be our original target very close to the centre line... but there was quite a bit of cumulus around. Had to head west, and fast! Ended up one or two miles east of the New Mexico/Texas border by a place called Bledsoe.
There was just this one LAST little annoying bit of Cu interrupting just on totality, beyond that it was clear to California.
