Anyone able to loan a GPUSB?

As the title suggests, I'm seeing if anyone can loan me a GPUSB cable? I have an EQ6 fitted with Astromeccanica motors. I want to get into guiding but there aren't any supported ASCOM drivers. I can't use EQMOD via EQDIR as the mount doesn't have any serial or ST4 inputs (inputs are on hand controller).

Doug from Shoestring Astronomy said I could try one to see if it works but I just want to check if anyone has one they aren't using at the moment and would be prepared to loan it to me to try out before I buy one?

Thanks

Dan

Are you a member of ASSA or its Deep Sky imaging group? There are guys there that could help you.

I actually need mine shortened which would leave more than enough to make another cable. If you can't get hold of one, I'll see about getting mine done and another couple made.

Perhaps PM me if you want and I can give you my mobile number as I am in Adelaide.

DeceptiCon, I am not currently a member now but was in the past. I may re-join now that i am getting back into astronomy.

Doesn't the GPUSB also come with a "box"? You only have the one right?

Gary, thanks for the offer. Not a lot of local offers at this stage. How much would postage be? I'm in Adelaide.

Dan.
very little, about $6 max. Give the local idea a bit longer another day or so, if that doesn't happen then I'll shoot it across.

Thanks Pete. How old is the unit? How long is the RJ12 cable? Do you know if the unit is a active low, or active high? Doug (Shoestring) informed me of the difference.

The one issue that concerns me is that some ST4 inputs are designed with "active-high" logic while most of them are designed with "active-low" logic. Our standard GPUSB is designed to work with active-low, but we also offer the GPUSB-AH for those rare cases that require active-high.

I just need the standard active low controller.

Thanks for the offer Graham. I might go with Pete at this stage given he no longer uses it so will save on transport costs if all goes ok.

There ya go, sorted. Holler if it doesn't work out. Just don't ask if it low or high, right now all it is is unloved/unused.

Glad you got it sorted, however, your OP suggested you only wanted a cable, not a GPUSB unit and cable. Hope it works how you want it.

I'm not sure whether its a low or high controller - looks like the standard one that Shoestring sell.

PM me with your address and I'll get it shipped

Pete
