Rwetyepme Dawn - 6/17

Hey, all,

Been a very long time since I posted in this subforum! I have since sold my photography gear. When I do return to the game, I’ll likely enter in the digital medium format game.

A panoramic of the lovely Rwetyepme (Mount Sonder) in the MacDonnell Ranges in the Northern Territory. The mountain stands 1,380 metres tall.

This is a 60 megapixel, six image composition made on our trip to the Northern Territory last year.

Larger version available here.

Canon EOS-5D Mark III, Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM
3.2s f/11.0 at 130.0mm iso100

Thanks for looking!

Hey Brad, thanks for the kind words.

I have a Mamiya that a digital back would be perfect for, but, it’s a bit of a pain the backside to get it all going.

I’m looking at the new Hasselblad H6D; I might have to wait until the price comes down a bit, though.

Nice pic H,but looks a little bit dark on my screen.
I did the Larapinta walk 7 years ago and final days walk/climb was to the summit of Mt Sonder.
Did you do any of the walks and climb the mountain. ?
The West McDonald Ranges are a beautiful part of Australia.
Cheers

Cheers, Ron.

Might have to turn up the brightness a little.

Nah, it is deliberately not too bright to try and emulate the feeling of dawn.

I didn't do the walk around it as I had severe food poisoning at the time. I did manage the short walk around Uluru, though.

Next time!

Excellent scene capturing 'H' Beautiful country indeed
We hope to get out that way in the 'distant' <-- pun intended) future - Doubt I'd make it far, be taking pano's every 1/2 hr
Always enjoy your 'moody takes' on landscapes

Thank you, all.

I've got a few more yet to process from this trip. It'll be a year in July. :O
