Lithium Batteries for cameras

Hello.

Ordered a new wildlife spotting camera. (see link)

http://www.reconyx.com/shop/HC600_Hy...rt_IR/d/220/61

It uses lithium batteries or eneloops. Was wondering what lithium batteries people here use-I've never used or bought them-all I know is they are expensive in shops.

I found these on ebay http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/111030331...84.m1438.l2649

I know there are lots of TAA's here that might have some experience with budget batteries-so looking to see if anyone has used ebay lithiums. The eneloops might work out better though.

Hi Chris

Eneloops are rechargeable and once fully charged, they hold their charge extremely well (>85% after 12 months) compared to the older technology NiCad batteries, which used to lose a significant amount of their charge in weeks, if not days. Also, Eneloops don’t suffer from the "memory" problem of NiCad’s.

The link to the Li batteries you provided explains that they are not rechargeable.

It might be worth considering getting a bunch of Eneloops instead as they are rechargeable and in my experience, this works out cheaper in the long run, and is generally considered to be “greener” in terms of the disposable Li batteries.

Cheers

Dennis
