Long time observer, new to EQ imaging

Hi all,

I have dabbled with astro photography for years with the camera ontop the LX200 I had until recently. Since then I have managed to obtain an ED100, HEQ5 pro and guide camera from the classified here

I took the setup to LMDSS on the weekend and got most of it going.
At this point I have not got guiding working and had the EOS 6D on top the ED100. I also managed to get some video of Jupiter through the scope with the QHY5L ii M before packing up.

I'm sure I will be posting a few questions once I try get it all going again.
Looking forward to getting some real imaging done and trying to get anything that looks any where close to what the rest of you are doing.
Big learning curve coming up!

Here is the link to flickr and a few shots I got.

Nice shots. Don't forget to add some info so people know what they are looking at. I'm pretty sure I know most of them, but not everybody will.

Chris,

I presume some members of the ASV astrophotographic section were there at the same time (and perhaps you already are a member of the section). I'm sure they'd also be willing to offer a helping hand should you need it.

Hey Chris
If you are interested, the Snake Valley camp is on over 4 night in March (11th to the 14th). Lots of experienced imagers to ask questions and we will be having a couple of workshop sessions specifically targeted at DSLR users.

It is the week following the Messier party at the LMDSS. Just have a look at the thread in the star parties section for info.

Cheers

Malcolm

I'll keep those dates in mind. Have a few sports commitments around then, but will try squeeze at least one of them in.
