Yeah. Because developed societies caused the problem with greedy, shortsighted, arrogant know-it-all, exploitation and hubris. So they must be the most qualified to fix it - applying the same hubris again, obviously.

The upside from less astronomy will be romantic sunsets , less rain - hence wonderful conditions for extended BBQs on the porch. BBQs with heaps of beef and GM corn. Nomnomnom.
