NGC 5904 ( M5 ) Rose Cluster

Back in Sydney for a little while and first time out last night for 3 weeks or so
Captured a nice little globular cluster NGC 5904 Rose Cluster under crappy conditions , 90% illuminated moon right overhead and poor seeing
Only the second time in 3 years I’ve imaged this little gem ( also known as M5 ) located in the constellation of Serpens. It’s quite dim at magnitude 6.5 and is recognised by the notable star HIP 74975 nearby
6” f6 Bintel newt on an EQ6-R Mount
Canon 600D with Baader coma corrector
Sensor electronics 18deg C
No filters
ISO 800
40 x 60sec dithered guided subs
20 x darks
PHD2 guiding was atrocious at 1.80 to 2.20 arc sec
Goto and tracking EQMOD, StellariumScope and Stellarium
Frame focus and capture BYEOS
Stacked in DSS
Processed in Startools V1.5 Linear data set
Used HDR module to tone down and segregate the core a bit more but still looks a bit blown out

Comments welcome

Nice one Martin. I got a bit bored with globs, unless they had something
about them that made them different in some way, such as 6752 with the bright star right alongside it.

A great outcome Martin considering conditions.

Once again well processed.
