Comet C/2020 F3 (NEOWISE)

My first sighting of Comet C/2020 F3 (NEOWISE) from Slade Point Queensland. 6 seconds unguided with a 135mm lens at F2.5, Pentax K-5.

Comet was not visible to the naked eye and very difficult to see even in 7x50 binoculars at this low elevation.

A bit bigger at Astrobin ---> https://astrob.in/qcew1k/0/

Edit, added a 10 x 6 second stack = 1 minute.

Thanks Russell. Latest reports have it at mag 3.9, but it's hard to see down in the muck.

Excellent Kevin.

I am looking forward to imaging it. It still is showing the ion tail as well.

Greg.

Thanks all. Hope you guys get to see it soon.

My latest, pushed a bit hard but that's the way I do em.

Comet C/2020 F3 (NEOWISE) from this evening July 25 at 7pm (0900UT) from Slade Point, (Near Mackay) Queensland Australia. I see there was a tail disconnection in the ion tail.

ED80 at F4.5, 45x20 seconds, HEQ5 Pro, Pentax K-5.

That's a great shot Kevin, lots of faint stuff coming through, that old Pentax certainly does the job. It is getting easier to see as it gains height, pity about the waxing moon though especially for those further south.

Well done on picking it up so early. That most recent shot is a cracker.
Good to see the K-5 still getting some use too.

Thanks Rick. The height offsets the Moon a bit but still, it is a nuisance.

I managed to find a spot in the backyard tonight for Comet C/2020 F3 (NEOWISE). Managed 40x15 seconds before I hit the tree line. July 27 at 7pm (0900UT) with a full spectrum Canon 1100D, Skywatcher 120mm refractor at F4, HEQ5 Pro.
