Well despite the crappy weather here in Vic I managed to dodge some nasty weather and actually achieve first light.
First object was a visual sighting of Antares during the 3 star alignment and and first DSO was visual look at Omega Cent.
I even managed an image which is attached. I did it while watching another band of cloud approaching from the south so only roughly focused, no guiding, 25s at ISO1600 on my EOS 760D. Didn't even have time to centre Eta Car. The scope has the supplied Reducer Flattener so it is at f5.6.
This shot is completely uncropped, only thing that has been done is saved as a jpg to get it small enough to post here.

The result was quite encouraging. I looked spectacular on my laptop immediately after download, combo of f5.6 and 4" aperture. the field flattener certainly seems to make the stars nice and round over the entire field.
