The most recent distance measurement for M64 puts it a 17 million light years away, and simbad reveals a lot of literature on the strange dynamics of the dust that gives it it's nickname of the black eye. This is the sum of four nights imaging from suburban Perth through the 16" f3.6 ASA Newtonian using the QSI682 and unguided on a DDM85XL mount.
The FWHMs went from below 3" to 6" as the week progressed, and some high cloud took out a few hours of subs, but all up - there's about 12 hours of useful data in here, and some nice detail in the dust clouds in the nucleus.
