3572 V2 (or V3, V4 etc .....)

New Ha & RGB data sets of this object following proper collimation of the 'scope. (thanks Diego )

Reprocessed from scratch in APP using drizzle and a couple of other tweaks including Dynamic Distortion Correction - much more detail showing now and nice star spectrums in the diffraction spikes!

Amazed how much extra detail there was in the S2 & O3 layers following star removal using Starnet++

Time to put this image to bed & move on - thanks for looking!

Photographed from my LP affected suburban backyard in Melbourne.

Would like to advise that’s its yesterdays apod.

Intriguing field, and the star profiles are superb.

but... you'll likely get an APOD 'cos of this ...the palette choice just doesn't work for me and the data looks a bit like it was shot through high cloud...kind of "misty" looking.

In any event, certainly something new and interesting to the table. Kudos for that

Significantly better than your first go Andy ...is this just the original version applied to the more recent, post-collimation, Ha, in an Ha(RGB) style combine, or did you recapture with all filters after collimating?

Thanks Peter, worked hard to get those stars sorted, I reshot the red 5 times until I was happy that they were sharp. As to another APOD? Well one can always hope

Cheers Mike- yes- new Ha, new RGB - freshly collimated scope & several new processing tweaks incl. drizzle for the first time.
I learned a lot from this, thanks for setting it all in motion with your original critique

Cheers

Interesting image for sure Andy. Not really sure if I like the colours but I think the effort you've obviously put in has paid off.

I actually like the colours, and also data processing was gentle yet highlighting interesting structures. Well done Andy

Thanks Steve- I learned a while ago the playing it safe limits opportunity- so yes, it’s a bold & original colour palette. Might not be to everyone’s taste but that’s ok too!
Thanks for the feedback 😊

Cheers Suavi- I’m always inspired by your bold NB palettes & Diego shared a few App processing tips - so I’m delighted with the results at long last after several failed attempts at this target. ‘Phew! Time to move on to something new.

That's a very striking image Andy. You are so clever at framing and composing plus your use of colour make for impactful images.

It looks a bit like the Soul Nebula the northerners often image.

Greg.

What can I say?
An APOD is still an APOD.
Well done
