M42 Redux

Hi all,
Just been going through my old data and playing around.
This one i took back in November 2018 and posted here.
http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/s...d.php?t=171516

Using different software and processing methods.
I originally used DSS to stack and Photoshop to process

40x2 minute lights
10X15 second core
No guiding
Darks, bias, and flats applied
Processed Pixinsight and Photoshop

Skywatcher BD 150mm
Canon EOS 450D (Moded)
HEQ5

Cheers
Andy

Hi Andy,

I love the second image. Really nice and soft and natural. A beautiful rendition of a great object. Well done 👍

That’s a nice version , softer look
Well done
PS: I noticed the axis of one side of your spider vane is slightly out when you look at the diffraction spikes. Might need to tweak one side a bit , if your bothered with that sort of detail ( mine were out a bit on my 6” and it bugged me until I corrected it )
Cheers

I like both of them but probably put both in layers and find something in between.
You can be proud of each result really.

Hi all, thanks for all the positive responses.
A lots been going on here so I haven't even had time to check IIS.
We lost 2 very close friends this weekend. Totally unrelated but far too young.
A very testing year indeed!!!
Cheers
Andy
