Eta Carinae Nebula NGC 3372

The night owl version Hoo+Hoo. Thanks to some friendly IS advice i am getting there for a short run at 20 min each . Better gain and adapter spacing but still some bottom left eggs ( top right in this view) which I would prefer even all round. Perhaps some cigarette paper like a troubling e string and tighten up that focuser again.

Don't worry there is always something to fix Ray. It's a great image. If you have star tools it generally can fix the eggs..I do it all the time cause I have yet to fix a few things.

Top shot Ray. Nailed focus and guiding. Bit of tilt in your field but that should be easy to fix.

Thanks Marc and Alex. I could adjust the distortion in PS if it were even . I need to research a method of fixing field tilt. At least the lower gain is working .

Yeah it's only a mechanical issue now. You've got the processing and camera levels down pat.

Thanks Martin. Oddly , not much processing involved, more combination with slight tweaks. A remarkable improvement in contrast when I added Hoo back in to the Hoo as the RGB component in Nebulosity. Very efficient with only two filters. I think the seeing the night before last was very good and that is what counts.

Yep like Alex said there's always something to fix. Image looks great though and have you looked at CCD inspector? It's what I'm looking at getting next to run checks on everything. Apparently it's good at diagnosing such issues.
